Barclays mortgage rates continue to fall in spite of rising swap rates.

The announcement that Barclays mortgage rates have been cut, has come at a time when there is great concern over rising fixed rate mortgage costs.

There is a real possibility of lenders increasing rates, or withdrawing some fixed rate products within their range altogether, yet Barclays has chosen to reduced rates.

A spokesperson for Barclays commented on this decision advising rates have been cut to show its continued commitment to supporting would-be home buyers and existing home-owners looking to remortgage.

Barclays has increased its net mortgage lending under the Funding for Lending scheme more than any other lender, and now it is reducing its rates to help buyers further.

With news of rising swaps and predictions of the base rate rising 2015/16, a 10 year Barclays mortgage has been released. For a 10 year fixed period a 60% loan to value mortgage is on offer at just 3.89%, for those looking to ride the storm of rising rates this represents a good deal.

Smaller deposit buyers are also being help out, Barclays Help to Buy mortgage rates have also been cut, a rate of 3.49% is now on offer. For those with a 10% deposit a 5 year fixed rate mortgage is now available at 4.89% and with a larger 15% deposit the 5 year fixed rate is 4.19%.

For those looking for a shorter term fix because perhaps they intend to move in the next couple of years, a 2 year fixed rate deal is available at 3.69% for 75% loan to value.

Barclays mortgage rates have been reduced across its residential range at all deposits, so all would-be buyers and remortgaging home-owners have access to a competitive deal.
