The latest mortgage rates offered by lenders may help those whose current mortgage deal is due to end soon. There are some great fixed rate deals available at the moment along with good lender offerings on tracker and discounted mortgage products.

The last few months have also seen an increase in the number of mortgage products aimed at first-time buyers. Those looking for a first property purchase are being encouraged to complete a deal before March 24, which is when the stamp duty holiday ends.

Predictions are for the BOE base rate to remain at a low level for the foreseeable future. Interbank funding costs are also likely to stabilize which could mean that lenders cheap latest mortgage rates should stay a while longer.

The HSBC also offer a 2 year fixed rate deal at 2.24 per cent, rising to the lenders SVR at the end of the term. The product is offered for 60 per cent LTV and comes with a £1,999 fee.
