Kent Reliance improves self-employed/contractor mortgage criteria.
The Kent Reliance has announced that it has improved its mortgage criteria making it easier for self-employed/contractor mortgage applicants.
The building society will now consider residential mortgage applications from professionals who are self-employed, if they have been trading for a minimum of 12 months.
Professional applicants include lawyers, doctors and accountants. The lender will require three months personal and business bank statements. Note that self-assessment tax returns and SA302's are not an acceptable for of proof of income.
When searching for a contractor/self-employed mortgage deal, it’s vital to seek independent advice. Not all lenders are prepared to view contractors in a favourable light, and so it is vital to find one that does.
