NatWest reduces its 2 year fixed mortgage rates.

NatWest Intermediary Solutions has chosen to reduce the price of its 2 year fixed rate mortgages. For example for those with a 15% deposit a 2 year fix for 85% LTV is now on offer at 3.65%.

If you are looking for a cheap 2 year fix there are currently plenty of deals to choose from. It remains the case the larger the deposit you have the lower the rate you will find, however competitive rates are on offer at all LTVs.

While 2 year fixed rates have fallen, several lenders have announced this week their 3 and 5 year fixed mortgage rates are increasing.

NatWest is one lender to make 3 and 5 year fixed rates more expensive, for example its 5 year deal for 60% LTV has risen 0.1% to 2.89% with fees of £995. A fee free version is on offer at 3.25% which is up 0.06%.

If you are looking for a longer term mortgage you are advised to make your move and lock into a low rate deal while you still can. With 4 lenders already having announced rate increases its only a matter of time before more follow suit.
