Yorkshire cuts fee free remortgage rates.
Yorkshire BS has announced a rate cut for borrowers wanting to minimise the upfront costs of remortgaging. Rates have been cut by up to 0.15%.
The lender is offering a 2 year fixed rate 90% LTV remortgage at 2.59% with no product fee, a free standard valuation and free standard legal fees.
For those purchasing property, the lender is offering a 95% LTV mortgage at 3.84% fixed for 2 years. The deal comes fee free with a free standard valuation and £250 cashback. A 5 year fixed rate is on offer at 4.49% which is also fee free and comes with the same incentives.
The lender advises that it understands the difficulty younger people face in buying a home, and so is doing everything it can through incentives such as free legals and no completion fee, to make home-ownership as affordable as possible.
When comparing deals, it is vital to review all products on a ‘like-for-like’ basis as fee free offers tend to come with higher rates. Making a ‘like-for-like’ comparison is however not as easy as it sounds with deals at varying terms, rates fees and incentives. The best thing therefore is to seek impartial ‘whole of market’ mortgage advice, and an impartial comparison of all lenders products.
